I am truly touched that you donated the books which correspond to our writing program. Our first grade students, current and future, will benefit greatly from your generosity. These books will allow the students to view the world through the eyes of an author and utilize the various genres and styles into their own writing. These books will give them an opportunity to read about experiences that they may not otherwise be able to experience due to their socioeconomic status.
The materials you provided will expose our first grade students to different genres of literature, styles of writing, and an abundant amount of colorful and vibrant illustrations. The students will not only use the skills learned from the books in first grade, but throughout their school years and into college as young adults. We are so excited to dive into these wonderful books!
